Great crested grebe x 5 adults and 1 juvenile on West Lake and 15 Adults on East Lake (including 2 on nests), little ringed plover x 1, sand martin x 40 (over East Lake), swallows (seen from Sutton Hide), swift x 12, sparrowhawk x 1 male seen from Willow Hide.

Red kite x 2 (over the sheep field and the reserve), lesser spotted woodpecker x 1 (heard calling just off the reserve not far from Nina’s pond, whitethroat x 1 (at boundary with horses’ field), coal tit x 1 (singing at hairpin), nuthatch x 2 (including one fledgling), little ringed plover x 2, reed warbler x 6.

Grey heron nests: nest number 4 adult with one visible chick (best to look from Carter Hide), nest number 6 juvenile on nest.

Lapwing survey: 14 adults from Tyler Hide + 2 recently hatched chicks (2 different families), also witnessed lapwings mating in the meadow in front of the hide, more lapwings on apparently occupied nests and 1 adult seen from Sutton Hide too.
