Collating and entering records of bird sightings in Kent onto the society’s database
Assessing descriptions of KOS rarities (see Rare birds to consider)
Forwarding descriptions of nationally rare birds to the BBRC (British BirdsRarities Committee).
Selecting records quarterly for publication in the KOS News
Analysing records for the Kent Bird Report
Preparing and publishing the annual Kent Bird Report
Providing records to approved organisations for conservation purposes
Submitting rare breeding bird records to the national Rare Breeding Bird Panel
Providing scarce migrant records for analysis by individuals appointed by British Birds
